Project Overview

Alshara'an Resort is a high-end, sustainable hospitality destination planned within the extraordinary natural and cultural landscape of Al Ula, Saudi Arabia. The development is designed to celebrate the area's distinctive vertical sandstone formations while integrating architecture sensitively into the natural environment. Covering approximately 11,546,029 m², the development includes a main banquet building, a main resort building, high-end residential villas, and supporting facilities. The mobility study aims to establish an efficient and sustainable transportation framework that supports the resort's high-end visitor experience while respecting the unique environmental and cultural context of Al Ula. The assessment focuses on estimating project-generated traffic, evaluating access and circulation, determining parking requirements, assessing pedestrian and cycling movements, and identifying appropriate measures to mitigate potential impacts on the surrounding transportation network. Our company prepared the Transportation and Mobility Assessment, reviewing the existing and proposed transportation infrastructure within the study area, including the roadway network, accessibility options, project access points, parking provision, and pedestrian and cycling routes. The study evaluated project traffic generation and circulation patterns and developed mitigation measures where required to maintain efficient operating conditions on significantly affected roads. The study established a mobility framework supporting the resort's sustainable and environmentally sensitive development objectives. The assessment provided recommendations for access, traffic circulation, parking, pedestrian and cycling connectivity, and mitigation measures, ensuring that the development can operate efficiently while minimizing its impact on the surrounding road network and preserving the distinctive character of the Al Ula landscape.
