Traffic Impact Study supporting the Al-Madouna Master Plan and land redistribution project, a 1,300-dunum logistics and dry-port development serving central and northern Jordan and regional freight movements. The study included seven-day Automatic Traffic Counts, classified Manual Traffic Counts, trip generation analysis, and future traffic assessment to evaluate network impacts and recommend measures to improve road capacity, serviceability, and traffic safety.
Al-Madouna is a strategically important logistics and transportation development planned to function as an integrated land port and logistics hub serving the central and northern governorates of Jordan and supporting overland freight movements to and from neighboring countries. The development includes the completed Al-Madouna Customs project, covering approximately 1,300 dunums, and a comprehensive Master Plan for the redistribution and utilization of Ministry of Transport land to accommodate governmental, logistical, and investment-related facilities. The objective was to assess the transportation implications of the proposed land redistribution and future development within Al-Madouna, particularly the anticipated increase in truck and vehicle movements. The study aimed to evaluate the capacity and performance of the surrounding road network under existing and future conditions and develop recommendations to ensure efficient traffic operations, accessibility, and road safety. Our company prepared a comprehensive Traffic Impact Study integrated with the approved Master Plan and proposed land-use distribution. The assessment included a seven-day Automatic Traffic Count (ATC) using MetroCount equipment along the Amman Development Corridor (ADC1), complemented by classified Manual Traffic Counts at key locations within the study area. Our team analyzed existing traffic conditions, estimated trip generation based on proposed land uses and development areas, assessed opening-year and horizon-year traffic impacts, and developed recommendations for the surrounding road network. The study provided a comprehensive assessment of the existing and future transportation conditions associated with the development of Al-Madouna as a strategic logistics hub. The analysis quantified expected traffic growth and freight movements and identified measures to improve network serviceability, traffic operations, accessibility, and road safety. The findings supported planning decisions for the Master Plan and helped ensure that the future development is effectively integrated with Jordan's wider transportation and logistics network.
