Mobility Study and Traffic Impact Assessment for the Zuluf Arabian Medium (AM) GOSP redevelopment, covering construction camps, laydown areas, terminal facilities, and temporary construction facilities. The study assessed traffic generation, vehicle movements, parking, pedestrian circulation, and alternative access routes to optimize connectivity, traffic operations, and road safety across the Safanyiah and Khafji road network.
The Zuluf Arabian Medium (AM) Onshore Gas Oil Separation Plant (GOSP) redevelopment is an expansion of the existing oil processing facilities in Al-Khafji – Safanyiah. The project enables the receipt and processing of wild crude oil from offshore AM platforms to sustain the Zuluf AM field Maximum Sustainable Capability (MSC) in line with production forecasts. The development includes Camp & Laydown Areas, Terminal Onshore Facilities, and Temporary Construction Facilities connected to the Safanyiah and Khafji road network. To assess the transportation requirements and traffic impacts associated with the redevelopment programme, ensuring safe, efficient, and well-managed access for construction and operational activities while minimizing disruption to the surrounding road network. Commissioned by KBR Consultant, our team prepared a Mobility Study and Traffic Impact Assessment covering construction camps, laydown areas, terminal facilities, and temporary construction facilities. The study assessed existing, construction, and operational traffic conditions, including vehicle movements, trip generation, parking demand, traffic modelling, and pedestrian circulation. It also reviewed alternative access routes and recommended the optimal access strategy. The study assessed existing and future traffic impacts of the redevelopment on the Safanyiah and Khafji road network. It provided engineering recommendations to improve traffic operations, access, parking, and road safety during construction and operation, ensuring safe integration with the surrounding infrastructure.
